Baking an identity for a pizzeria
A former launderette in a 1970’s block of flats got a second lease of life serving its neighbouring residents delicious wood-fired pizzas. The new owners were looking for a pared down identity with a playful vibe for their small pizzeria.
As a homage to the pizza-making process—in particular the act of stretching the dough by hand—I combined the two font families Krana Fat A and Krana Fat B to create the logotype.
The green and yellow colours combined with the grill pattern are inspired by the retro vibes of the surrounding neighbourhood. The circular grid pattern used on the grill is an ode to ‘a pizza in a box.’
Together with the interior designers, we brought the pattern to life as actual grills on the facade.
